"Real courage is when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what" -Harper Lee

Wish you were here

This song has been a great part of my life, keeps coming back to me over and over. I have spent a great deal of time being away from people whom I’ve cared for deeply and this song has applied every single time. Its a sucky situation but its a part of life. This song was also part of a very strong friendship that I’ve had ever since I was about 14 years old, a very dear friend who is now suffering of cancer and still has a long road ahead (you still have my original CD, but you can keep it!). Wishing for someone to be close to you at a given moment is frutrating, but oh so sweet when they’re next to you…

Wish You Were Here - by Pink Floyd

So, so you think you can tell, Heavel from Hell, blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade you heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeeze? Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange, a walk on part in the war, for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here…
We´re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground, what have we found?
The same old fears,
Wish you were here…
