Happy Monday
Monday has arrived, and yet again, it seems like I just cannot manage to have one of my usual positive sunny and happy mornings. It is sunny though, (oh wait, rain is here) and the weekend went pretty well, except for the fact that I had to literally climb up and around my front gate to get into my house some time early Sunday morning after my night out LOL.
So my Monday blues started today right smack at 6am in the morning when I stumbled over to the kitchen to get my coffee going before getting in the shower, the water supply had been cut off, nice! I won’t get into details about how me and me kids managed to get clean and ready before heading out for the day. I finally get to the office and surprise, surprise, my laptop starts crashing every second… great, anything else for today? So again I rush off in the scorching heat to see the IT guy in hopes of being able to officially start my day sometime before 12 mid day.
So back to the office with no A/C in my car (or the one I’m currently driving because my own car sucks!), laptop seems to be working, got my cold green tea and then, the internet is down, how can I not laugh!?
Let’s just make this story short because obviously my internet is back and my work day officially started at 1:36 pm. I thought I’d take 5 and just look up something on “Monday Blues”, not that I’m blue and I certainly have managed to keep a good mood. I found online a few suggestions to beat days like this one, my day is almost over but they might become useful to somebody eventually. I love the suggestions, somewhat unrealistic to apply to my personal life but let’s see!
1. Examine your work life. Does your work make you happy? Is there anyway to start enjoying you job more? (I do, I do, that’s not the issue here haha! moving on)
2. Try to wake up early on Mondays. Waking up early can jump start your day so you are not frantic and late. Being late can make any day a bad day. (I did!! Had no idea the entire neighborhood had no water!) Enjoy a nice breakfast with your extra time on Mondays (I’m good with my coffee and I sure got that today). Eat some delicious pancakes and fruit (hahaha, yea, like I have time for that!). Enjoying a special breakfast not only gives you energy for the day, but it makes Monday different.
3. Exercise in the morning if you can wake up extra early. (6am is early enough for me, no plans on going beyond that) Try doing a different sport, dance, or activity on Monday. Learning something new makes life more fun and Monday more fun (uhuh, yea!).
4. Take a different route to work (impossible), because again variety is the spice of life (Ah yes, got to agree there, not when it comes to driving traffic tho haha). Listen to new music and try to avoid the news on Mondays (loud 80′s music all the way).
5. Make a to-do list on Friday so you are ready to tackle your work on Monday (check, do that every day). Try to do as much work on Friday so you are ahead or at least not behind on Monday. Start working immediately, procrastinating does not make a Monday any better.
6. After work join friends for a Monday happy hour or start a new hobby. (haha, now wouldn’t that be nice!!) Doing something different on Monday than the rest of your week, makes Monday a happy Monday.
Stay positive on Mondays. Monday is a great day! Be happy that your life is not worst than it could be. You are too blessed to be stressed. Choose to be happy the whole Monday. Happiness is a choice and you can have a happy Monday!
