Today is the day to connect

Have you ever wondered why some of us always feel the need to stop by a Starbucks just to get a really expensive morning cup of coffee?? Because it’s Starbucks right!! Of course I’m in Costa Rica and we’re not close to having one around but every single time I travel, the first thing I do as I get off the plane is head out and begin my search of that little round green sign… may I remind you that the coffee they sell is from Costa Rica, and its the same stuff I drink every morning… but it’s just not the same. Starbucks is a Lovemark… it has managed to gain the love and respect of it’s clients, it makes you feel at home, the smell, the spirit, the stories. It has managed to create that connection with it’s clients and surpass all boundaries of an ordinary trademark.

Ask any Starbucks drinker, how it makes them feel and you’ll get answers such as “I can’t go a day without my Starbucks”, “It’s my drug” or “It works better than my alarm clock”… or an even better description “the real thing that makes me crazy about it is that in front of the Starbucks counter, when it is morning and we are going to work and we feel like busy workers, we all come back to childhood where we are all called with our unique, important and friendly nickname”…. and that’s what makes the difference on an ordinary Monday morning!…

Today there was an article about our company (Tribu D Saatchi & Saatchi) in the newspaper, typical interview with one too many people and it all gets twisted around in the final version lol… I was mostly surprised that the reporter omitted completely the fact that I went on for hours about how users feel the need to connect to their brands in today’s busy world. The economy is all wack and we’re all making sure we make the right decisions when it comes to spending our pennies. No matter if its a daily $5 cup of coffee at Starbucks or a $100 pair of jeans that we’ll wear every day for months because we just love the way they feel and refuse to buy anything else. Us humans have this natural need to connect and its something that we’re doing online every single day, some of us almost every minute of the day.

Our company is looking to strengthen this connection, between us needy human beings and brands, its our mission to take them that step further until we create a love affair… to provide our clients not only with a “website” but give them the tools to get a little closer to those people who have a love for their brand… and hey, why not, reel some new fans in too! All in all it was a good article… just lacked a little bit of passion, emotion and love…

This is just the beginning for us, a lot of great things are soon to come… yes a lot of hard work and yes a lot of focus and determination, but also a lot of love, and family and team work, which are the key ingredients that make our day to day, our present and eventually our future.
