LYRIC TIME!! been a while hee hee… A lot of things are happening in my life right now, I´m very down about stuff at work and I am about to run off screaming and just escape to a beach somewhere to get some peace and quiet. I will be doing some “escaping” in January to Toronto, hopefully to NJ too, I just cannot avoid counting days!! So anyway, lets finish the day on a postivie note, lets sing and dance to The Fray!
Look After You
If I don’t say this now I will surely break
As I’m leaving the one I want to take
Forgive the urgency but hurry up and wait
My heart has started to separate
There now, steady love, so few come and don’t go
Will you won’t you, be the one I’ll always know
When I’m losing my control, the city spins around
You’re the only one who knows, you slow it down

Watching the AMA Awards last night I was really moved by the award presented to singer songwriter Annie Lennox. So many artists now a days make such a fuss in the press about anything and everything they do, the Pitt-Jolie family selling photos of their twins for 14 million dollars and DiCaprio flying private jet planes after preaching on Global Warming. Little do we know that Annie Lennox has been a human rights supporter for most of her life, giving profits to Amnesty International and Greenpeace and being awarded by the British Red Cross.
Lennox raises awareness hands on and through her music without the need of the flash of a paparazzi, surely something to admire. Last night at the AMAs, Lennox received the Award of Merit and gave the audience a chilling and emotional perfomance of her song “Why”. Appart from being one of the most successfull British female singers, I think Annie Lennox must be admired for her will to service the world with her envolvement, passionate work and beautiful music.
Annie´s presentation of “Why” last night was chilling, I have attached the lyrics to her song, very very powerful words: Read the rest of this entry »

It is said that when a relationship ends with everything left up in the air, its because there is the thought of leaving an opening or a reason to go back. By leaving everything “unsaid” there is no real goodbye and all is left on pause so that one day it can be picked up easily where everything left off. Maybe we just dont like to admit that its really over and prefer to leave things unsaid because we are afraid to become vulnerable, say what we really feel inside and then get deepy hurt. Is it best to pour our hearts out and be hurt or just leave things unsaid? Any thoughts?
Not that you’re the one
Not to say I’m right
Not to say today
And not to say a thing tonight
But suffice it to say
We’re leaving things unsaid
We sing ourselves to sleep
Watching the day lie down instead
And we are leaving some things unsaid
And we are breathing deeper instead Read the rest of this entry »

Ok, since I haven’t been inspired to write lately, or havent had the time either, thought it was time to throw in some lyrics. This is the song called “Nothing lasts forever anymore” from Sloan, a local band in Toronto. Lyric time… yey! Promise I’ll come up with some juicy stuff soon, cant let my fans down hahah!
I can see the writing on the wall
You hardly see me lately if at all
Well well
It’s funny you say that
‘Cause I miss you like I never have before
But nothing lasts forever anymore
I wanna know you I wanna trust you
But you get a lot of love from the guys
I wanna show you off but must you
Be easy on the ears and the eyes too?
Don’t you know the time is right?
It’s funny you say that
‘Cause I’m standin’ here
And what that’s standin’ for
Is nothing lasts forever anymore
Don’t you know the time is right?
I believe you mean it when you say
That you have time for me but not today
Well well
It’s funny you say that
Is nothing lasts forever anymore
It may be true but one thing is for sure
Don’t you know nothing lasts forever anymore?
And nothing lasts forever anymore
Don’t you know nothing lasts forever anymore?
And nothing lasts forever anymore
It’s funny you say that

LYRIC TIME!!!… another local Canadian band (yes I love to listen to weird music, so what?) but you should listen to this band, slow and mellow, sometimes very sad.
Let´s Trade Skins
by Great Lake Swimmers
My heart is with you, its many dark corners
Its rings of smoke, its lighted hallways
And I wish you could know all the ghosts in my bones
They are weeping, they are screaming
They are inside my body
O, let’s trade skins
I’m rippling in this skin that I’m in
You could wear my shoes, I could have your hair
And think that it was fair
I’m rippling in the skin that I’m in
Im gonna build you, she said, Im gonna heal you,
I can feel every part of you
That holds it together
And you always looked so happy when you were sleeping
Sleep is the only way sometimes
To live in a perfect world
It’s party time, quiet and sublime
Tonight there’s a party, a party of one
Like a wisp of smoke, solitary and thin
The heat’s coming off the fires we built
Stars were meant to shoot
And waves were meant to crash
I’m hypnotized by the flicker, and saddened by the ash
And it’s complicated with desires and dreams
With stiches and battle scars pulling apart at the seams
O, let’s trade skins
I’m rippling in this skin that I’m in
You could wear my shoes, I could have your hair
And think that it was fair
I’m rippling in the skin that I’m in
