Today is the day to connect

Have you ever wondered why some of us always feel the need to stop by a Starbucks just to get a really expensive morning cup of coffee?? Because it’s Starbucks right!! Of course I’m in Costa Rica and we’re not close to having one around but every single time I travel, the first thing I do as I get off the plane is head out and begin my search of that little round green sign… may I remind you that the coffee they sell is from Costa Rica, and its the same stuff I drink every morning… but it’s just not the same. Starbucks is a Lovemark… it has managed to gain the love and respect of it’s clients, it makes you feel at home, the smell, the spirit, the stories. It has managed to create that connection with it’s clients and surpass all boundaries of an ordinary trademark.

Ask any Starbucks drinker, how it makes them feel and you’ll get answers such as “I can’t go a day without my Starbucks”, “It’s my drug” or “It works better than my alarm clock”… or an even better description “the real thing that makes me crazy about it is that in front of the Starbucks counter, when it is morning and we are going to work and we feel like busy workers, we all come back to childhood where we are all called with our unique, important and friendly nickname”…. and that’s what makes the difference on an ordinary Monday morning!…

Why do women fake it?

Posted: March 25th, 2009 | Author: Ann | Filed under: Opinion | Tags: , , , , , , | 6 Comments »

Remember that really funny scene in that old movie “When Harry Met Sally”?… you know, the part where Meg Ryan fakes an orgasm in the middle of a packed diner, crazy funny, but good, she’s good! So… yes, some women fake it, bad bad news for the guys. To begin and for those who are wondering, no, I’ve never faked it… I’m way too straight-forward and honest to bring myself down to that, plus, I’m a sucky actress lol.

So this subject came up on Twitter last night, after watching an episode on Seinfeld, you go figure! I just had to sit down and brush the subject a little. 70%… that’s what studies say, 70% of women fake it, ouch! Maybe they don’t do it all the time, but there is a very high probability that it has happened. Funny thing is, how many times have you heard a guy say “Oh if a woman would fake it with me, I would know for sure”?… yea buddy, keep telling yourself that!

I’m a woman, and I have lived a little, not to say a lot… and oh have I talked about sex with so many of my girlfriends through the years. I can tell you, that when most women have sex with their boyfriends or husbands, I’d say about 99.7 (The other 0.3% belongs to my sunshine) have faked it! AND, 100% of those times, all of them swear that the poor guy never knew the difference… ouch again! Its no secret that men like to think that when they make love to a woman, that she is actually having the best sex of her life, or at the very least, that he has completely satisfied her. Unfortunately, that is not always the case, so sad! I once heard this girl say that some nights she’d let the actress in her come out and let her man feel good, you know, not to ruin his fun. Heck, that must be bad having nights like those, what ever happened to mutual satisfaction? Girls, we have as much right to get it as we like to give it… so if you’re not getting it, maybe its time to move on! Read the rest of this entry »

Two Boxes

Two boxes met upon the road.
Said one unto the other,
“If you’re a box,
And I’m a box,
Then you must be my brother.
Our sides are thin,
We’re cavin’ in,
And we must get no thinner.”
And so two boxes, hand in hand,
Went home to have their dinner.

Mereces lo que sueñas - Beautiful

LYRIC TIME!! This song has so much meaning to me that I cannot even begin to describe… it brings back beautiful memories of someone whom I cared for deeply and died tragically about 6 years ago. The funny thing is, he was special to me because he came into my life during a very difficult time - my divorce. He taught me one and only one thing, the importance of being myself and finding the real ME. Today I had a very interesting conversation with a very interesting someone about this very subject, about the importance of always staying true to ourselves, who we are, whatever stage in life we’re at. Funny enough, this person brings out a lot of good things in me, very similar to that one person I lost long ago… a new wonderful feeling.

An important phrase in this song, “Mereces lo que sueñas”, which means, you deserve whatever you dream… I’m beginning to live my dream, and it feels good, very good…
