It’s up to me…

It’s been a while since I’ve taken the time to write here, you know, not counting videos and lyrics and other people’s writings. The past couple of months have been of change in my life and I thought it was a great time to jot it down and remind myself about it for the future… It’s been about a month that I’ve been running my own business at home and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Life is full of choices I believe and sometimes we get stuck in situations that make us grieve, but we’re so scared to step out of the ordinary that we just become a settling coward. It’s a decision, it’s a choice and it’s a chance, but it’s up to me, or anybody else, to make things work for themselves. I made the decision to step away from a very hostile work environment and make the change for myself. Today, I’m happy to say that I’m relaxed, spending my time with my kids and re-learning to enjoy my family, my friends and home again, taking care of it, taking care of me. Life is good to me, I can complain every now and then, but… life is good to me, that’s all I can say. What’s next? I’ll soon be flying up to California for a couple weeks to take a nice long road trip, no plan and no known destination. From L.A. to San Francisco, maybe Vegas and even maybe Utah… I love it, life has to be spontaneous sometimes, brings back the fun into the routine. I’m happy, once again I’ve made a big decision and come clean out of it… and it feels great. Soon I’ll be posting pics from my California trip, can’t wait!!

Ah… my song of the month, lovin’ Kings of Convenience

Food for thought | Should we just accept results and move on?

We can spend a great deal of time trying to discover the reasons for a particular situation we are in especially if we decide other people are involved. The moment we consider the situation may be caused by others we seem to go on a which hunt. Who did it? Why did they do it? How do we prevent it from happening again? Just to name a few of the questions we could ask.

People take action according to their beliefs whether we agree or not so we could waste a lot of time and effort trying to answer why and never get it right. We can examine the situation for clues to preventing a similar situation occurring in future. After that we should just accept the results and move on.

Today I learned…

That I must think sideways
That I have to zig when everyone else zags
That human beings are powered by emotion and therefore I must embrace emotion
That I must love more
That love is a friendship caught on fire
That respect is love in plain clothes
That I must be more passionate, sensual and intimate
That I must dream more
That I must tell more stories
That I must embrace my senses
That love comes in many shapes
That I must climb a mountain
That I must go to the jungle
That I must think like a fish
That I must follow the sun
That I must be passionately curious, about everything
That I must be inspirational
That I must LOVE

Purpose

It’s been a while and I apologize, many things going on… big positive things going on. I miss writing and I will get to it eventually. I’m reading a bit too, here and there, so I’ll get around to a couple book reviews too!

So I found a little interesting thought online today, written by a guy named Peter Haslam, a few random thoughts about our purpose in life. Read and think, comment if you have any interesting thoughts :)

It is generally believed that we need to find our purpose in life to be fulfilled. I don’t argue that point but wonder whether we have only a single purpose as is often thought for our lifetime.

We are constantly changing according to the circumstances in our life. Events occur that are not in our control, peoples’ decisions which we do not control impact us, changing knowledge and experiences change us, we age and see new concepts and interact with new people, and so on.

Perhaps we need to find different purposes at different times in our lives to keep growing. Perhaps we need to reexamine our purpose or purposes throughout our lives to maximize our lives to the best of our ability.

We need to keep ourselves challenged and evolving throughout our lives and perhaps a single unchanging purpose is not sufficient to accomplish that.

A penny for my thoughts…

Yes we live in a complex planet, each one of us is a world on its own, tastes, personalities and even pet peeves. Tolerance is a great key to survive and I guess being a little odd and off-key can come in handy too, just to keep some kind of sanity. I myself sometimes have a hard time figuring people out sometimes and I’m pretty open minded, still some people never seize to amaze me. I was reminded of this whilst I was surfing through Craig’s List earlier this evening, we all have our weirdness and problems in life, some way more than others. This one 20 yr old guy was looking for someone to teach him how to kiss lol, he’s had this 5 yr online relationship (yes, 5 yrs!) and was going to meet this girl and didn’t know how to kiss… Whilst others, like some chic who had just woken up from a one night stand, were posting to get their bra back from the unknown dude they had sex with the night before! Ah yes! everybody has their issues. Some desperately seek affection and others just can’t get enough of it. Relationships can be so complicated, really makes you wonder who’s the lucky one, the dude who can’t kiss or the one night stander maybe she should date the guy who’s trying to sell his ex’s collection of books for insecure women ”tons of them” according to him, seems like he could use a night with the girl wearing the expensive French bra. All in all, it’s all live and learn, laugh it off and keep on moving. :o)
Cheap shot to the weekend…
